Blurb:

Jennifer McQuiston’s debut historical romance, What Happens in Scotland, is a lively, romantic adventure about a wedding that neither the bride or the groom remembers.

Lady Georgette Thorold has always been wary of marriage, so when she wakes up  next to an attractive Scotsman with a wedding ring on her finger, it’s easy to understand why she panics and flees.

Convinced that Georgette is a thief, her may-be husband, James McKenzie, searches for her. As both try to recall what happened that fateful night, they begin to realize that their attraction and desire for each other is undeniable. But is it enough?

Fans of Sarah MacLean and Mary Balogh will enjoy this utterly charming historical romance from award-winning author Jennifer McQuiston that features unforgettable characters and a satisfying mix of adventure and passion.

Historical Romance smart and funny

review

I started and finished this book in one day. It was hard to put down. An entertaining plot and quick paced story telling had me constantly grinning at the antics of both the hero and heroine. What Happens in Scotland is a cute tongue in cheek title that resembles what one might go through in Vegas (not me, that’s for sure). A case of amnesia plagues both the hero and heroine and it was funny how the hero came upon his.

The whole story takes place within 24 hours and it may seem like a stretch that Georgette and James fall in love that quickly, especially since they don’t spend that much time together, but somehow it works. Theirs is a funny and entertaining love story, full of mistrust and personal growth. Her experiences makes Georgette come out of her shell. As James says, she has two personalities inside. One of them reserved, and the other wild. I loved it when he asked himself which one of them he should propose marriage to. He was such a cute hero. Definitely alpha in every way, stubborn, charming, and sexy.

This was my first Jennifer McQuiston book and I was not disappointed.
