Sunday Post #1: The Never-ending TBR Pile

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome to my first ever Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

The never-ending TBR pile is the best thing about being a bookaholic.

Everyone who is addicted to books knows about TBR (To Be Read) piles. They come in many different sizes from a few books to a mountain of them! But do we know how to organize it? I felt that my pile was getting a little bit wild and in danger of going past the point of no return. A few months ago I set pen to paper and decided to tame the wild pile.

OMG yes, it was a lot of work! I wrote every single book down. E-book and print! But trust me, it was worth it in the end.

Total tally: Print: 295 E-book: 300!

I made an excel sheet for easier access and updating. Also, when I want to put my list into a random number generator, it helps me pick out my next read.

This week I bought new bookshelves just for my TBR pile. (This isn’t all of it, yet…)

Your TBR stacks look pretty close to mine and I also need to revamp things. I used to have a spreadsheet and then it went by the way side. Since last month I’ve been good about putting release dates on my calendar as well as the source so I’m thinking that will help quite a bit.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Haha, you’re like me, I use spreadsheets for everything when it comes to blogging! I don’t have a strict TBR, but I do keep a spreadsheet for review copies. They’re just so handy! And yay, welcome to the Sunday Post! It’s such a fun meme 🙂

Oh I am afraid to tally mine. I used to keep track on an excel spreadsheet years ago. I use Goodreads to mostly track books in series to see what I need or already own. LOL I own the same books on kindle and nook though..so it might be a good idea to do this! Glad you linked up with us!

Welcome to the Sunday Post! This really is a fun weekly feature. It’s my first time visiting you and your blog looks fantastic! Keep up the good work. Aaargh, don’t even get me started on my TBR. That thing about the road to hell is paved with good intentions? My road will be paved with my TBR list and the fact that I don’t do much about it…! Happy week and hope you get to sort out those lovely book cases!
