Sunday Post #6: Buns and Roses Tea for Literacy

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I’m back from the Buns and Roses Tea for Literacy Event!

I headed to Dallas, TX last weekend for a fun filled event dedicated to a great cause. The Richardson Adult Literacy Center teaches English as a second language to adults who live in the area. For more info about their organization, check out their website: http://ralc.org/

Anyway, I had a ton of fun and got to meet awesome authors like historical romance author Elizabeth Essex (I sat at her table 🙂 ), Caroline Linden and contemporary romance authors Codi Gary and Jill Shalvis! Jill gave an awesome keynote speech about her love for books.

There were silent auctions for awesome gift baskets (I won quite a few LOL) and a book signing. However, one of the best parts of this whole event are the special teddy bears they give out each year. They differ in themes every year and this time it was a cute surfer bear!

Will definitely go again next year.

Other than that nothing much happened this week. I just needed to unwind 🙂

NOW that’s an awesome cause I could get behind!! It’s great when your book $$ goes to a good cause – and it’s tax deductible!! Woot!! I love Jill Shalvis, too 🙂
