Sunday Post #12: A Nice Relaxing Week

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I had a relaxing week where I actually read a book from my TBR pile. 1 down 400+ left to go! LOL

I’ve been watching a lot of Holiday themed shows. I especially love cooking shows and baking competition shows focused on the holidays. Makes me hungry, but also gives me ideas. 😉 I also have a bunch of Hallmark Holiday shows on my DVR and I’ve been slowly whittling them down. They are so cheesy but I love them. Something about the sappy and sweet put me in a better mood.

I finally got all of my Christmas shopping done! WOOT! Now all I have to do is wrap them. But the best news is, is that my mom is flying in next week to visit. She’s going to stay a while; I don’t get to spend so much time with her since we live quite far from each other. So excited!

Visit From The Mailbox Fairy

I got bookmarks from being a member of The Night Owl Reviews bookmark club! Barn Kitty is not amused LOL

Not mailbox fairy related, but I wanted to get myself a few gifts. I went to the bookstore and found some books that needed to be adopted.

I love The Lady Emily series by Tasha Alexander (It was on sale!). Throne of Glass and The Illusionists looked really really good. Has anybody read these?

I decided to take on this really short story that looked interesting.

See my review here: His for the Holidays.

I’m reading my first Sarah J. Maas book at last – A Court of Thorns and Roses – and I’m loving it! I’m really looking forward to getting to Throne of Glass soon – I hear wonderful things! Happy reading! 😀

Congrats on finishing your Christmas shopping! I’m finished too, and everything is wrapped. I usually always keep waiting until the very last moment, so I’m very happy to be all done already.
Your new books look great! Enjoy 🙂
Have a wonderful week and happy reading.

That’s awesome you’ve gotten all of your shopping finished! I’m almost there…but I still have wrapping to do too. I’m loving the Christmas shows too, and the baking ones are fun to watch even though I can’t really bake.

Aw that’s awesome your mom is getting to come and stay for a while. I’m totally jealous! My mom is a good bit away too. Thank goodness for technology and still being able to visit that way, right? Hope you have a great week to come!
