Sunday Post #15: Happy New Year!

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I can’t believe that it’s 2017. I have to say that I’m glad for it. While personally it wasn’t a bad year (2015 was for me), it was the worldwide drama and celebrity deaths that were the worst. But, I’m not going to dwell on that. We have a fresh start and a new year to look forward to.

We spent the night watching Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper. They are just so funny and a good laugh is what I needed.

As a blog, I have an exciting new venture that’s in the works. I don’t want to discuss it right now since I don’t have that much information on it. So, right now it’s fingers crossed. 🙂

I went to the bookstore this week in some much needed retail therapy. I walked away with this lovely book haul:

P.S. I haven’t put away my Christmas decorations yet. 🙂

I received a copy of Mad God Walking by Conner Drexler. I won it in a contest at Kristen’s blog Metaphors and Moonlight.

What a great book haul! Retail therapy works wonders… and it’s even better when it’s books. 🙂

I’m also curious about your new venture. And buying a few books is good for the soul:) Happy New year!

So curious about your event! And…I am so ready for retail therapy! I held off on buying new books halfway through December…since I’d already completed the 2016 Challenge…and didn’t want to mess up the 2017 event. LOL. But at midnight last night, I started downloading books. I want to go to Barnes & Noble tomorrow…or maybe they’re open today! I haven’t taken my Christmas decorations down, either. They go a day longer every year. Hmm. One year back in the eighties, they stayed up until March. I think I was depressed. LOL. Enjoy your books and the New Year! Here… Read more »

Ooh nice looking books! I’ve read a few Tasha Alexander’s (I think I read The counterfeit Heiress, or maybe not- I guess it was Behind the Shattered Glass) but anyway I like those. Happy New Year! I do think Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin are pretty fun together although I didn’t see them this year.

Of course I’ll be forever curious about that new venture on the blog until you tell! 🙂 Ooook I guess just fingers crossed for now. Oh not a better way to start a new year than with newly bought books. Fresh from the book store. Hope you enjoy them. Happy New Year!

Retail therapy of the book variety, always a great mood picker-upper! Don’t worry, you don’t have to start taking down decorations until like mid-January 😉 And yay, I’m glad your book arrived 🙂 Happy New Year!
