Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

sunday-post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I was MIA last week with the Sunday Post due to a tremendous loss to my family. My father passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on the 8th. It was so hard living far away from my parents to begin with, but the guilt of not having seen him in two years, made this worse for me. We texted and talked on the phone, so at least I have that to hold on to. Right now, we’re in the process of helping my mom move in with us. I have to stay strong for her.

However, I’m still blogging to help occupy my mind and reading is helping me cope.

Right now, I will just summarize the posts from this week and let you know what to expect for next week.

Oh damn. I’m so sorry to see this. I understand that guilt well living away from my family and not being able to get home to see them either. Thank goodness for technology and being able to stay connected that way. Sending lots of healing thoughts and prayers for you and your mama.

Aleen, I am so, so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Being lucky enough to still have both my parents, I simply can’t imagine how you must be feeling. My heart hurts for you. Consider yourself hugged long distance. You are very much in my thoughts this week.

Oh, I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad 5yrs ago. It doesn’t necessarily get easier, but less painful and I’m better at remembering the good now and my memories are fond ones rather than sad ones.

I hope all goes okay with your mother’s move. Does it mean a big relocation for her? I hope she settles in well.

So sorry for your loss. I used to live about 8 hours away from my parents. Then both of them started having health problems and I was lucky enough to be able to move closer. So, I know about the guilt. Remember to take care of yourself as well as your family. You can’t help anyone if you don’t help yourself first.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my own father last January. Take all the time you need and I understand the need to occupy your mind.

So sorry for your loss! It is always hard being miles away from family members…my grown kids are scattered, with only one living in my city.

Take care, and I’m glad that the books are helping.
