Sunday Post #23: Flip-floppin’ Weather & Reviews Galore

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This weather is driving me crazy! With fluctuating between warm and cold, it’s no wonder I finally got sick. After circulating from every member of my family, it hit me. I’m always the last to get it in my household and I had to go and announce that little factoid to the universe last week,  so I actually foretold my own future. LOL.

I did get some reading done this week. I finished an ARC called Curse of the Healer by Ashley York. I absolutely loved it. Still have to write a review and will post it some time next week. Wrote my review for Meant to Be by Maggie McGinnis and posted it on Saturday. I received a few reader copies/ARCs–so it’s good to replenish my stock, right? 🙂 I’ll have a whopping 4 reviews posted next week! Some of them are for blog tours, but dang!

Same here, the weather seems to be all over the place, very warm to cold. Although it seems to have settles into slowly going to more spring like weather, but it some times till freezes during the night. Now I am curious about your review for that book you loved. It’s such an amazing feeling when you enjoy a book so much. I hope this is a good week!

I’m so excited about Nancy’s book! Eee! Such a fun series. The weather here, too. It’s lost it’s mind. 80 during the week then snow on the weekend. *hangs head*

I was just visiting Lily’s blog and she had said the same thing, the weather is all over the place. We’re in autumn here now but it’s still super warm but the days have been lovely. Looking forward to winter. What a hug week of blog posts you’ve got planned, looking forward to checking them out! <3 Have a wonderful week of reading sweetheart!

That’s is an amazing power you have there!!! You foretold your own sickness!! Now why would you have gone and tempted fate like that???? And I refuse to answer your question about getting sick b/c as soon as I do, I’m only asking fate to slap me upside the back of my head. 😀 No, actually, the crazy weather is causing allergies to start here in SE Michigan and I have a migraine it, too. Not too horrible… yet. And awesome job writing reviews this week!! I’m getting there, myself so I know a victory when I see one!! YAY!!… Read more »

Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight

Sorry you got sick :-/ Feel better soon! And at least you got some new review copies to replenish your stock 😀

This weather is making me sick too. My nose and ears are so clogged. Ugh! Hopefully this week the weather settles a bit! Have a great week.

I hate this weather. I was really ready for some warmth, but oh no too much to ask. Everyone is getting sick 🙁 I hope you feel better if you don’t already

Four reviews- nice! And yeah it’s been cold then warm here, then cold- back and forth. sighs

And to answer your question- no I didn’t escape the sick either. 🙁 I had it a few weeks ago, and it lingered (the cough anyway) for a good week or so. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

I had avoided illness for a few years, and was feeling so good about it that the universe decided to give it to me for my apparent smugness. I was in denial at first…and then acted like a baby. Not knowing how to behave during illness, since I was out of practice.

But I also blame the crazy weather…ours has been alternately warm and cold, too.

Mine was a few weeks ago…hope you feel better soon. Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your books. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

I always get sick last too – must be a mom thing. Youngest brought home this stomach thing, and I got that AND this crazy vertigo. Mostly better though and soldiering on. I’m going to try to get a lot done this coming week, and it sounds like you REALLY are! I’m trying to get through Jane Jacobs’ “The Death and Life of Great American Cities.” It’s so dense with facts that it’s a slow read, which is embarrassing to say since I am an urban planner!

Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

I’ve given up hope of any kind of winter here this year. I think Florida just got skipped. It was in the 70’s and 80’s all week. Ugh. Sorry to hear you are sick! Hope it passes quickly. Four reviews in a week is awesome! I look forward to seeing them. I just picked up that Laura Kaye book, too. I saw it offered in an author’s newsletter (drawing a blank on which right one now) so I downloaded it. I met Laura at a book event when she was promoting this one last year but I’ve yet to read… Read more »

I’m sorry that you ended up getting sick. I hope you feel better soon. My whole family went through it twice. Seriously…each of us had it twice. We just kept passing it back and forth. GJ on your 4 reviews this week. That’s great. I can usually only get one review up a week. A couple of years ago I would do 2-3 but my reading time has been at least cut in half since then so I just couldn’t keep up with that anymore. Hope you have a great week!
