Sunday Post #24: Spring Forward but Wanting to Fall Back

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Gosh, let me just say that I’m not ready to Spring forward. I enjoy gaining an hour in the Fall, now I have to lose it to sunlight. No, I’m not a vampire. 🙂

I just can’t believe we’re at this point already. However, I would not want to go back in time to earlier this year, either. I’m finally over this cold/cough thing that I had and the weather is still wonky. It was super warm yesterday, felt like upper 80s, now it’s cool again.

I got some reading done this week. I finished reading Lady Mechanika Vol.2 (The author is releasing Vol.3 in May! *SQUEE!*), Code of Honor, and Ensnared. Still need to write those reviews though, so I might get those out next week.

It’s not set in stone yet, but at least once a month I’ll have a feature called Small Talk Saturday or Saturday Small Talk (haven’t figured out which title yet.) where I’ll interview an author. If I can get more interviews, I’ll bump those up to twice a month. I’m also going to start my newsletter back up again. I have an author that wants to do a newsletter blast. I’ll feature a couple of her books and do a giveaway exclusive to newsletter subscribers. The newsletter will also be once a month. I’m still on the fence about the whole newsletter thing right now.

I won a ARC copy of About a Dog by Jenn McKinlay, it looks like a sweet read.

  1. I think our time springs forward this weekend, ugh, not looking forward to that. I like the extra hour in autumn, but I would gladly forego that if it doesn’t mean losing one now.

About a Dog looks super sweet, i think I have that one on my wishlist. That’s awesome you won a copy.

I don’t do a newscaster for my blog, but I have two newsletters for my business. I haven’t seen many bloggers with a newsletter, but I do subscribe to one blogger who sends a list of posts she posted that week every Friday, which is neat.

  2. A little late, but I’m glad that you got over your cold/cough! Oh the interview meme sounds lovely, can’t wait to see it! I’m got the new Guhrke book too, definitely excited! Happy reading!

  3. Yay! Someone else who has read Ensnared! 😀 I really enjoyed it – it was very unlike anything I’ve read before! I’m looking forward to seeing what you thought of it! Have a great week!

  4. I’m not a big fan of spring ahead ha ha! You wouldn’t think an hour would matter that much but it always screws me up. And sure enough today FLEW by and just seemed worse because of the change. And it’s been cold here- ugh.

Glad you enjoyed Lady Mechanika, and your Saturday interview feature sounds great ! Good luck with it!!

  5. I’m not a fan of DST. I much prefer the other time – when it gets dark earlier. It always takes me a while to adjust to DST. Sounds like you had a really good reading week! Looking forward to your new feature!

  6. I totally forgot about DST. (Like, I knew it was happening last night, but I didn’t remember today until you mentioned it.) It just hit me why I was so tired when I got up today lol.

The weather is being so weird, right? It’s supposed to spring! And all the sudden this week it’s going to be colder here than it was at any point in winter -_-

I’ve never done a newsletter. I feel so intimidated by that. Like, what does one even put in a newsletter? How does one set one up? So many things I’d probably screw up lol.

  7. Those are some sweet new reads and perfect for spring:) I still don’t know why they continue with the time change. I hate to lose that hour. It makes the first few days seem shorter. But I’m an early riser anyway, so I get the most I can out of daylight:)

  8. Congratulations on the ARC win! Niiiiice new books!!! And I think I’m okay today, the real test will be tonight when I go to fall asleep… an entire hour earlier than normal O.O Eeep!

    Have a great week!

  9. I loathe the spring forward thing. It doesn’t seem like a big deal, but that 1 hour totally takes me a week to adapt to. Like, for the next week my sleep schedule will be all kinds of off! Ugh.
Hope you have a good week!
