After a young friend shows up unexpectedly on her doorstep, Lady Mechanika finds herself on a globe-spanning trek filled with alchemy mysteries, secret societies, and scientific curiosities, while opposing forces race in search of the Tablet of Destinies, an ancient Sumerian artifact reputed to hold the knowledge of the Gods and the secrets of the Universe. Collects all 6 issues of the second Lady Mechanika mini-series, The Tablet of Destinies.

Graphic Novel

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book via NetGalley.

Lady Mechanika Vol. 2 was yet another great adventure in a now familiar Steampunk world.

I was kinda disappointed that it did not pick up from the previous story, because there are still unanswered questions about Lady Mechanika. This installment was a brand new adventure and case for her to solve. It was still entertaining and the graphics were still pretty awesome.

The storyline is kind of nod to Indiana Jones, with the mysterious “weapon” that can destroy the world and the Germans that are after it. But NO! Don’t get too comfortable with that idea because it throws just the right amount of twists towards the end that will keep you satisfied and makes it unique to the genre.

Lady Mechanika encounters a new side kick of sorts; a rambunctious kid, she teams up with mysterious chain smoking man, and kick-ass women jungle warriors. If anything, this story does not want for interesting characters.

I look forward to more of this series and hopefully can get more backstory to a very endearing character that is Lady Mechanika.

This sounds like a great series, not sure it is for me though.. Glad you are enjoying it.

Sorry this one left you with unanswered questions from the last, but I’m glad to hear it was still good! That artwork is fantastic, and wow, it does sound like the series has some really interesting characters! That’s always fun! Great review 🙂
