Sunday Post #27: Reading Challenge Updates

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

sunday-post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I’m totally gearing up for a major storm today. Much needed rain, but I can do without the thunder though. All of my plants are happy and if things continue in this direction, I’ll have tons of vegetables and flowers. I’ve planted just about everything as always, so it’s really just hit or miss. 🙂

I didn’t get too much reading done this week either. It looks like just one book a week now. Not where I want to be but I’ll take it as it comes.  I finished reading Ride Hard by Laura Kaye and have yet to write a review for it. Quarter 1 of the 2017 Reading Challenge (one of the hosts being Lexxie @UnconventionalBookReviews) has already come up and I’ve read 16 out of 60 new releases so far. Here’s a list of the books:

We got a fair bit of rain on top of the snow from Stella melting so our rivers are scarily high. Good luck on your challenge! I hope you had a wonderful week. 🙂

We had major rain yesterday, too. Looks like we’re going to get a bit more tonight. I need to follow your lead and get my veggies planted! Ee! What all did you plant?

We had storms come through here on Monday and I saw on the news that we basically got our entire anticipated April rainfall in that 24 hr period! Pretty intense storms but I love a good thunderstorm. 🙂 Looks like you’re totally on track for your goal of 60 for the year… even one book ahead. Go you!

It rained a bit here but nothing like the storms I thought were coming. My mom and I made some seed bombs at a library event and we’re hoping to toss those sometime in the next couple weeks and see how well it grows!

Good luck with your garden! I’m just about to get plants in the ground and I’m excited! Last year I didn’t have much luck but I’m thinking that was weather related. Hope the storm doesn’t get too bad. I haven’t read Victoria Alexander in forever but she used to be one of my favorites! Have a great week!

I’ve been meaning to read something by Jill Shalvis…and Accidentally On Purpose looks like my kind of book.

Thanks for sharing, and have a great week. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

I just squeezed in a book at the end of the week to have read two. It almost didn’t happen so not a great reading week here either. Tons of veggies and flowers sounds lovely and very spring like. I need more spring weather to come my way though!! Awesome job on the challenge. Have a great week!!

I just put your button on my blog. How was your first day of your new job?

There’s still snow on the ground here, so no plants for me. I did start some sunflowers in my basement, though. Hopefully they’ll be ready to go outside next month when the snow melts.

Yay for flowers and veggies! And hopefully the storm won’t knock out power or anything and will instead just give you some good rain.

One book a week is better than no books! Have a great week 🙂

You are doing really well with your challenge!! Hopefully the storm is just rain and not too much thunder/lightning. Have a great week!

You’re rocking the challenge. My reading weeks have been weird. One week I listen or read 5-6 books the next it takes me a week to finish a book and audio. We have had rain almost every day. It has been damp and overcast, but our lawn is green and will need to be mowed soon. Hope your week is simply wonderful Aleen.

It’s funny it wasn’t a great reading week for me either. Maybe this week will be better? Hope your storm isn’t too bad. I don’t mind an occasional thunderstorm as long as it doesn’t get too out of hand. 🙂

Have a super week.
