Sunday Post #35: Happy Long Weekend!

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Life at the lake is bustling with families, much to my dog’s chagrin. Hope there aren’t any fireworks, because she gets really stressed out. Also, the weather is super humid. Hoping for rain so it can take some of that away.

So that book that I was having a hard time with ended up becoming a DNF. Since it was for a book tour, I’m just going to spotlight it and do a giveaway. I signed up for it, so I’m going to go through with that. I didn’t post the review on my blog but here it is on Goodreads if you want to check it out.

But I did finish Dark Lord of the Night and I LOVED that! So my review will be up next week for that one.

Love Julia Quinn and I’m enjoying this one so far.

Did not accept any new review copies this week–*whew!* I really need to catch up on the commitments that I already have.

Blind Tribute by Mari Christie

As America marches toward the Civil War, Harry Wentworth, gentleman of distinction and journalist of renown, finds his calls for peaceful resolution have fallen on deaf—nay, hostile—ears, so he must finally resolve his own moral quandary. Comment on the war from his influential—and safe—position in Northern Society, or make a news story and a target of himself South of the Mason-Dixon Line, in a city haunted by a life he has long since left behind?

I’m helping put together a blog tour for the author that I PA for and would appreciate any support.  ARCs are available in June or if you just want to sign up for a spotlight/guest post (those are limited), just let me know. The tour will run in July and the book releases on July 28th. We can work with your schedule.

Aw hope things didn’t get too bad for the herd pup. Darn on the DNF. Sometimes you just gotta do that, though.

Have a great long weekend!

Happy Memorial Day! We’re not at the lake but people are still shooting fireworks off… 🙂

Sorry about the DNF…

Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight

Sorry about the DNF, but at least you finished one great book last week! Have a great weekend!

Oh Nick at Nick and Nereyda’s Infinite booklist raved about The Girl with the Make Believe Husband! I can’t wait to get my hands on it! Bummer about the DNF. It happens though! Not every book works for every readers!
Have a great week!

Aw, too bad about the DNF. But sometimes you just gotta!

I hesitate to do blog tours for the reason that I might not like a book that is featured. The same reason I don’t accept author reviews, unless I’ve read and loved the author.

Enjoy your week…and thanks for sharing. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

Laura Thomas

I live in a rural area and the houses out here usually do their own fireworks. My dog, Lassie, was terrified of them and always hid under the bed or in the closet. Even a hint of rain had her trembling.
Enjoy the holiday weekend and your new books:)

Aw, sorry to hear you finally DNF’d that book. I was hoping it would pick up for you. But if it’s not happening… why force your way through it? Especially disappointing/tricky when it’s for a blog tour. Hope you have a wonderful week!
