Sunday Post #40: Weather, Making Lists, & Challenges

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

I can’t believe I’ve done 40 of these posts! It seems like yesterday that I joined this meme. I’ve missed a few weeks here and there, but I’m so glad that I did this because I’ve met a lot of new bloggers.

Y’all it’s hot over here. I. CAN’T. STAND. IT!. It’s like walking in a warm wet blanket. Air conditioning is my friend and so is ice cold drinks. I made a batch of cold brewed coffee last Monday and it’s da bomb! Who needs Starbucks right? I certainly don’t feel like drinking hot coffee in this weather. So it hits the spot.

This week, for me,  has been about making lists. I was getting a little lazy and was kind of losing my purpose. Besides, when you have a hundred different things you need to do and just didn’t know where the hell to start, it kind of wears you down. So I decided to write my tasks down. It’s not rocket science, I know, but it really does help. I got a lot accomplished.  It also feels good to put a check mark next to a finished task for sure. I even scheduled blog posts ahead for once. Me? I’m a procrastiblogger (Yes, it’s totally a word  LOL). No shame in that, I hope…

Speaking of shame, I’ve decreased the amount of books in my Goodreads challenge. I was never going to reach 200 this year ::hangs head in shame:: but now I have a more manageable goal of 120 and I’m not feeling stressed about it anymore.

Reading this for a blog tour and enjoying it. Amateur sleuths are fun to read about.

Okay, I know I said I wouldn’t accept any more review copies, but dang I couldn’t pass this one up. I love love this series.

Neptune's Daughter

I’m linking to the Amazon purchase page because its Goodreads isn’t really populated yet.

Oh man, I couldn’t resist watching this, because I just loved the Beastie Boys’ original video for Sabotage. This was funny. 🙂

I love ice coffee and lists! Its been really hot here too but I can’t stand the AC for too long. 120 is great and stress free. Have a great week!

I love to do lists. Checking or crossing things off feels so good!

Don’t feel bad about changing your Goodreads goal- 120 books is way more than the average person.

Have a great week. 🙂

I feel you, only I don’t have AC so I’ve been suffering all the way around. LoL Not a whole heck of a lot of reading or blogging going on because when it’s this hot, I can’t seem to sit still long enough. I’m hoping the weather here will break and it will cool down some.

Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

I feel you on the heat! I’m in northeast FL and the heat combined with the humidity is doing me in. All I want to do is stay inside. I love making lists. My husband jokes that I probably have a list of all my lists somewhere. LOL I’m so impressed you actually got some blog posts pre-scheduled. Go you!

Hope the hot weather eases up soon. We have a lot of rain; wish we could send some your way. Happy reading week!

Maureen Bakker

Good of you to change your Goodreads challenge. I did so too last week. I honestly didn’t even know we good decrease it.. but I feel so much better now I know I can reach my goal.
Have a great week and happy reading!

Neptune’s Daughter looks good. I’m always making lists too. Now, I just have to follow them 🙂 Have a great week!

Neptune’s Daughter looks good. I lowered mine back in March. Last year I read 267, so I set mine at 275 and it made me so anxious. I lowered it to 250. Cold brewed coffee is the bomb. I like iced too. Hope your week is amazingballs Aleen!

I always use lists. Otherwise my already hectic life would crash and burn. I just finished The House On Devil’s Bar and like it a lot. And I hear ya about the heat. Been in the 90s here with heat indexes well over a 100. Not complaining though as I hate the cold. Enjoy your books and stay cool:)

My Sunday Post

Love the video! Big Bird ♥️

Hey congrats on 40 Sunday Posts! It does go by fast. 🙂 And yeah what we would do without air conditioning? Ours went a couple years ago and it was high 80’s in the house, and I was like how did people survive lol?

Love the video!

Ronyell (a.k.a Rabbitearsblog)

I had to lower my number of books this year too because I could never reach 100 books a year, so hopefully I’ll read 80 books this year!

Savanah | Off-Color Literature

Wow! Even 120 books is beyond impressive! I’ll be thrilled to reach fifty 😉

Mary Kirkland

It’s been hot here too 116F yesterday. Ridiculous. I schedule posts too. I usually have about 60 posts scheduled on my blog at any given time.

Neptune’s Daughter looks wonderful! Great cover, and I’m always up for a mystery.

I’m a list-maker, too. Now…if only I could find my list! Just kidding.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog. Stay cool!

It’s funny. I was thinking about taking on more arcs. The last one I finished in two days. How did you join the Sunday post? It seems like it would be fun (for the most part) to makes these kinds of posts.

Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog

Iced coffee is the best when it is hot out! Lists are the best. I love checking things off of them 🙂 I am lucky I was ahead on the GR challenege because my reading has SLOWED down. Have a great week and happy reading!
