Sunday Post #42: Getting Over the Blogging Blahs

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Umm..Hi…I didn’t post last week. Sorry. I feel like a missed a date or something. 🙂 Well, I just wasn’t feeling it. There are weeks that just leave me feeling blah and there really isn’t nothing to write about. I’m so boring sometimes LOL. I needed a break anyway. Not like I didn’t post at all during the week, but come weekend, I was drained.

I had a busy week with helping the author I assist with her book release. I co-hosted my very first Facebook party on Friday and it was fun! It’s all about the organization.

Speaking of organizing, my bullet journal came in…finally. I swear, Amazon takes it’s sweet a$$ time packing my order sometimes. And no, there is no way in heck that I’m paying for Prime. I’m going to spend some time filling it out today, but first I need some pointers. I’ll definitely look for ideas around the web. Wonder if this will be another hobby that I’ll stop working on later. I’m bad about that. I might post about my adventures with this on the blog, still thinking about that though.

Oh! Before I forget! I got a shiny new NetGalley badge. 🙂 50 reviews baby! Small potatoes to some, but I’m totally stoked.
50 Book Reviews

I.LOVE.SUSAN.WIGGS! Sorry for shouting but I was really excited to get this one and it’s good so far. 😉

Because of my I can’t say no-itis, I took in 4 review opportunities. Some of you know my love for Lady Mechanika and I scooped up La Dama de la Muerte on NetGalley. I’ve also read previous books in the The Mercenary Maidens (2nd book) and The Travel Mishaps of Caity Shaw (3rd book). Mimi Matthews is a new-to-me author who reached out to me to review her book. 🙂

I had one of those nostalgic flashbacks the other day when I suddenly remembered this song and just started singing it. Of course, I had to watch the hilarious music video for it. Do any of you remember this? Or are a fan of Weird Al?

Yay for your bullet journal! That’s always exciting 🙂 I said I’d never do Prime but holy cow. Best decision I’ve made and actually saves me a lot especially when the other features (free books, music) are added in. I can’t imagine going back to not having it. lol I’m totally spoiled. Hope you have a fun week and enjoy your new journal!

Sometimes you just need a break. Hope last week’s break did some good. 🙂
Bullet journaling appeals to the uber-organizer in me but I don’t start because I *know* I wouldn’t stick with it. I would spend a ridiculous amount of $$ on journals and pens and markers and six weeks later… yeah, I know myself too well to even start. LOL I know YouTube has a lot of bullet journaling how-to’s, though.

I definitely get the blogging blahs lol! My way of combating this is by writing 3-5 posts on my days off so I don’t get behind. But that’s just me. That Lady Mechanika cover is the best cover I’ve seen all day! I’m definitely adding this series to my TBR. Happy reading!

I’ve had my share of blah weeks but am starting to get back in the blogging groove. If only Life would stop throwing curveballs at me! ha!

Yay, you got a bullet journal! I started mine in February and love it! It’s evolved into more trackers and lists than a planner, but that’s because I already had a planner and couldn’t see not using it. Not sure what I’ll do next year. I joined a few Facebook groups for bullet journals, and lots of good ideas on Pinterest and Instagram. Have fun!

Congrats on the badge! That’s awesome. And yeah breaks are good. Good luck with the organizing!

I do get the blogging blues at times which is why I blog ahead at least 2 months. Right now I have 55 posts written and they’re ready to be posted. They post automatically every night at midnight and so if I can’t think of something to write about there are posts ready to go.

I thought the facebook party was a success.

It is good to take a break every once in a while. Hope you enjoy your bullet journal. Oh man I couldn’t live without Prime!! Have a great week!!

Wow. The Lady Mechanica sounds really good. Hope you’ll enjoy your new books 🙂
