I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
After months of bad luck and even worse men, Luciana Diaz just wants to crawl under the covers and forget the year ever happened. Her friend has other plans, convincing Luci to attend a New Year’s Eve party on the affluent shores of Kiawah Island.
Luci never expected to have fun. She also never expected to wake up next to a man she just met, or for this man to be the new attorney at her firm.
Landon Summers is done with drama. After an ugly separation and even worse divorce, he has no desire to jump into another relationship.
When his sister Trinity drags him to a New Year’s Eve party, he doesn’t plan to stay long. One drink, a few hellos, and he’s out. Until he meets Luci, the first person in months to draw his smile and incite his passion.
Neither Luci nor Landon planned on each other, and they definitely didn’t plan on love. But the New Year means a fresh start, and eternal possibilities neither could deny…
Eternal by Cecy Robson is a fast paced sizzling hot story of insta attraction. Even with all the sexiness there was equal parts of sweetness as well. The romance between Luci and Landon starts from the minute they see each other and the hurtles they each must overcome to achieve their happily ever after.
Landon was a charmer, even with his inner monologue
“She’s shorter now without her heels, maybe five-feet and change. That doesn’t mean she’s not beautiful. Aw, hell. It’s like she’s photo-shopped.”~Landon
I loved that he couldn’t help himself. With his bad divorce and jaded opinions on love, it was sweet to know that he couldn’t resist Luci. Normally, I would have been put off by the never ending love scenes, but with this story it works. They were just two people who weren’t looking for anything in particular and just decided to go for it because of their limited time together. They both went into their affair knowing that they probably would never see each other again. Luci, who seemed like a shy and timid character in the beginning was cute and funny with her thoughts.
“Have I mentioned Landon has an ass Adonis would kill Zeus to spank?”~Luci
Luci was a somewhat heartbreaking character, especially in regards to her mother. That was such a tearjerker of a storyline that really endeared me to her. Landon’s role in the most crucial aspect of her life was heartwarming and lent the sweet romance that I was craving.
“You’re my world, Luci, my ocean, an the eternity that I’ve waited for.”~Landon
The one thing that disrupted my reading experience was the sudden jump into a flashback without any warning. It would have been nice to have italics where that was happening so it wouldn’t just run together.
This is book #2 in the Carolina Beach series. It can be read as a standalone since I jumped in with this book and did not feel out of place.
