Sunday Post #52: Takin’ Advantage of That Extra Hour Of Sleep

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Hi everyone! I’m kind of liking not posting every week. Gives me more to talk about. LOL (I’m so boring.) We had an uneventful Halloween at our house. Our neighborhood does not do trick or treating and I haven’t handed out candy since moving to TX. Kind of sad, since that was one of my favorite things to do.

The weather that week got really cold. I’m talking about lows of 30 degrees! But that quickly went away and we have normal weather for this time of year. Finally got the rain we desperately needed as well.

On the new house front, they have put in insulation and are starting on the walls. Still no brick yet. But I have picked out some interior things like lighting. That was not easy.

Next week I’m participating in the HoHoHo Readathon over at Kimba’s. I’m actually one of the hosts this year and will be offering a prize. So join in so you can participate in that. 🙂 Sign up will close on the 10th.

I’ve somewhat become an audiobook junkie. It’s quickly becoming my favorite mode for reading. I just finished listening to Dracula by Bram Stoker. It was narrated by Alan Cumming and Tim Curry. It was so good. Look for my review of that later.

We’ve also been having cold weather (and I mean that cold too). Can’t say I’m super excited about weather of that kind 😀

Yay for getting the rain you needed! It’s been a dry one here this summer so I understand that need. Yikes it did get cold!

Wow, so no one in the whole neighborhood does trick or treating? I know it’s less popular than it was many years ago (safety concerns, I am sure) but still… I thought there were still plenty that did go out. Kind of sad. Good to hear that things are moving along with the house. I’ve learned over the last year or so that I really enjoy audio books! And how how that Tim Curry was one of the Dracula narrators. Love him! 🙂

I’m starting to love audiobooks as well. It still can’t beat books though but it’s growing on me. I hope you enjoy your books/audiobooks this week and have a wonderful reading week. ❤️

My Halloween was uneventful, too. I ate candy and read blogs. Good luck with the readathon!

We don’t get kids trick=or-treating in my area. Too far out of town. So…I only bought one teeny little bag of candy bars. You know, just in case. LOL It must be exciting to do interior designs in your house. I’d love to do that for a career. Have a lovely week.

I’ve got tons of leftover candy in my house thanks to Halloween. I have no self control when it comes to chocolate so you can probably guess how that is going. I’ve been listening to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on audio. I adore listening to these books on audio – such a fun way to experience this series over again. I hope that you have a great week in reading!

Enjoy your HoHoHo Readathon…I’ve never participated in it.

I haven’t handed out candy here in the ten years I’ve lived in this place. I used to buy the candy…and then had to try not to binge on it. LOL.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

That stinks about no trick or treating. It isn’t that cold here yet thankfully. Audiobooks are great! Have a great week!!
