Sunday Post #59: Rain, Rain, Go Away…

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

It’s around this time every year where the rain comes in and doesn’t want to leave. I haven’t seen the sun in one week and it appears that I won’t for another week. It’s miserable and kind of depressing but at least it’s not cold. The grass is starting to perk up though.

New House update: I haven’t been to the site due to the rain, so I”m not sure how much they’ve done. But I know that the staining is finished and they were supposed to paint this week. We got a call from the granite installer and he will be going out there to measure soon. It’s getting closer and closer…

Really enjoying this one. It’s a fast paced read.

Be A Good Girl by Tess Diamond

I was browsing Edelweiss’s catalog when I saw this. A new book! Super excited to read it. Thanks HarperTeen!

You May Now Kill the Bride by R.L Stine

I needed some retail book therapy and bought the other books in Lisa Kleypas’s The Ravenel’s, and I got The Alienist. Now, I haven’t watched the show yet, but I wanted to read the book first.

Top 5 Reasons Why I loved Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas

On Monday, I listed the top 5 reasons why I enjoyed Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas. The publisher is also giving away 1 print copy of the book to one US/CA winner. Check it out here.

On Tuesday, I participated in a Blog Hop for The Unlikeable Demon Hunter: Crave by Deborah Wilde. The give away is over but you can still read an excerpt from the book here.

Bold in Honor Rating Banner 5 star

On Thursday, I reviewed the new book in the Knights of Honor series, Bold in Honor by Alexa Aston. A Medieval Romance that will pull at the heartstrings and also make you wish very bad things to happen to the villain.

I enjoyed reading The Ravenel’s series. Just got to know there’s another book coming up!
Happy reading!

Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

I’m one of those weirdos that actually loves rainy weather. Even cold, rainy weather. 🙂 Hopefully, for your sake, it’s cleared up , though. Wow, I didn’t know R.L. Stine was still around. There’s a blast from the past!

I’m waiting to move into my new house too and the wait is excruciating! We’re buying a new build and don’t have a firm handover date yet and I’m so ready to move! I hope your house is ready for you soon!

Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight

Sorry about the all depressing rain, but yay about things getting done at the new house! And wow, that cover on the review copy is so awesome! HAve a great week 🙂

Aj @ Read All The Things!

I hope the rain stops soon. That Fear Street cover looks awesome. Have a great week!

Bold In Honor sound like my kind of book. It’s been rainy here as well and I’m hoping it doesn’t become worse weather than that. I’m ready for a little sun too. Hope you have a great week and the rain lets up.

I just finished Be a Good Girl so I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it! I’m really looking forward. to reading The Alienist at some point soon! Especially as I’ve been DVR’ing the show to binge on it soon! Have a great week and happy reading!

Mary Kirkland

Glad to hear that house is coming along. It’s been cold, overcast and windy here for a few days. But I like days like this.

Oh I loved Fear Street when I was a kid! I hope you enjoy it!

Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

I read The Alienist back when it first came out and remember liking it but that’s about it. Now I’m watching the show and not remembering the book is driving me crazy because I’m not sure how closely the show is following the book. I need to get a copy and just reread it! We had a gorgeous week but a grey and rainy weekend which seems to be the new normal around here. Not loving it! Sounds like the house is really coming along! How exciting! Have a great week!

Laurel-Rain Snow

Be a Good Girl looks very tempting. Sorry for all the rain…and since my nickname is “Rain,” I will try not to take your “Rain, Rain, go away” personally. LOL.

My personalized car license plate reads “I AM 4 RAIN.” People who see it and don’t know me assume that I am making a comment on the rain we need in our drought-ridden valley.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!

I am going to have to get Lisa Kleypas books. I love her covers and there are such good reviews of her books and I love historical romance. Have a great week of reading!

Jenea’s Book Obsession

No rain all week here until last night, bad thunder storms and wind. No sleep here. Enjoy the new books and the week ahead.

Glad you are liking the Tess Diamond book! Its on my kindle so hopefully I will get to it soon! Its raining here as well. The river is past flood stage. I am not sure I remember what the sun looks like!

I hope the weather will get better soon! I love retail therapy, enjoy your new books!

Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog

We had a couple of weeks of rain and now we’ve had a week of 80s and sun. Loving that! I am watching The Alienist. It’s growing on me and I wonder how I’d feel about the book.

We have had some spots of sunshine, but it has been raining like a beast here. I am hoping all of this ends before I have to go to work tomorrow. I guess I just find solace in the fact that this could be snow, which is worse. I have never read a Stein book. I think he was popular when my daughter was school aged, but she didn’t want to read them, because they were scary. I hope you love all your new books.

Joann Downie

I definitely want to read Lisa Kleypas, and retail therapy is ALWAYS good!! I am a print book person myself! Come see what I got this week!

Hope that the rain ends soon and that you get to your house site! Have a great week!

Kind of jealous about the rain cause what we have is -17C and up to out mid-calves of snow 😀 I would rather have the rain xD
So cool about your house, hope you can see the result soon 🙂
Have a great week!

Ronyell (a.k.a Rabbitearsblog)

Good luck on your house! I hope it comes out nice once it’s done!

Ooh Be A Good Girl looks great! Love that cover, it has a very intense feel to it. It’s been raining a lot here too, and it does suck when the sun takes a disappearance! Hopefully you get some blue sky and sunshine this week!
