Sunday Post #61: Warm Weather=Pedicure

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This week went by quickly for me. We met with the contractor again to go over various things. One exciting update with the house is that our counter tops and sinks are now in. They will start on the floor tile soon.

Since the weather is so warm, it’s got me in the mood for flip flops. The unfortunate thing is that my toes were not ready for that transition. I treated myself to a well deserved (in my opinion) pedicure. So relaxing. I’m not a big talker when I’m being pampered so I always bring a book with me.

Speaking of books, I’ve been on “accept all books” mode, which I definitely need to stop. There’s just so many good books coming out and so it’s really hard not to partake. Why is it that all of the books you want to read get released around the same time? Drives me nuts.

I had to put Marrying Winterborne to the side because of ARCs. So TBR needs to wait just a little longer.

I loved the third Veronica Speedwell! I was quite annoyed at myself that I didn’t read these in order….I felt like it would have definitely would have been better…..Shame this one wasn’t as good as the first one for you….Really looking forward to reading the first two of in this series.

I am working with Askmit on testing my comments. LOL, Of course, they are telling me it shouldn’t be going there. I treat myself to a pedicure every month, all year long. It makes me happy 🙂

Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

Oh my feet are a mess! Need to get out the polish and stuff so I can be ready for sandal season! I can’t wait! I’m so curious about the 2nd Veronica Speedwell. I loved the 1st one so much so that’s a bit disappointing this one isn’t quite living up to it. Accept all the books is definitely dangerous but hopefully your TBR doesn’t have to wait too long. Have a great week!

Aj @ Read All The Things!

I’m scared of how many good books are coming out. I want to read them all, but that won’t happen. I’ll just pile them on my shelf until it collapses and kills me. 🙂 Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

I love the cover for A Perilous Undertaking. Have a great week!

Mary Kirkland

The 80’s are starting net week so I’ll be sure to wear flip flops too.

Joann Downie

I have seen the Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle a few times, I might like that one. I like all your books here. I hope you had better luck with the house this week!! I had a fantastic book week!!

I’ve been trying to decide on when to get my first pedicure of the season…soon?

Enjoy getting ready for the new house…and luxuriate in all those lovely books.

Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!

I tried to get Undead Girl Gang downloaded from Edelweiss and whatever format they use will not let me. I was so looking forward to reading that one. Oh well what can you do. Enjoy your new books!

I can’t wait to be able to wear some flip flip and sandals. Not for the next 3 weeks though, fractured foot. Ugh. Enjoy your new books and your upcoming week too. 🙂

Kristin (Book Sniffers Anonymous)

It does seems like books come out in one sitting. I’ve been having a hard time saying no to some of the newer releases myself. I’ve never heard of The Undead Girl Gang but I am digging the title. I will have to look that up on Goodreads.

We actually had snow on Wednesday. Flip flops are not even on my radar yet! Oh well. Enjoy your books! I have Be a Good Girl coming up on my TBR pile!

Evelina @ AvalinahsBooks

Flip flops, I wish 🙂 we still have snow 😀 I’m glad you can wear them though 🙂 and just a little bit jealous, haha 😀 and you’ve got some nice review copies! Enjoy 🙂

I am so jealous you got Undead Girl Gang. I love Anderson! I hope it’s fabulous! I saw it up for First to Reads, but I didn’t even try, because I have to read that format on my Fire, and I have to read it sideways, because it’s a PDF, and I cannot adjust the font. — sigh —

Sounds like the house is slowly transforming into a home. Must be exciting! Undead Girl-gang sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy your new books!

Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

Hooray for more progress on the house! Oh how I love a pedicure. And I’m like you – I don’t want to chat, I just want to relax. So I always take a book. When You Knew sounds like such a good contemporary romance.

Sounds like the house is coming along! It must be gratifying to see it slowly get up to speed. And yeah there are SO many books coming out lately that I want. It’s crazy.

Be A Good Girl is one I’m kinda interested in, because thriller. and Undead Girl Gang sounds like it could be fun…

Laura Thomas

Nice haul of books! I’ve been wearing flip flops too and di my toenails. LOL It’s warm and sunny and perfect weather this weekend. Spent most of it outside reading and working in the yard.

Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books

I wish it was warm here! I was freezing outside today with a shirt, hoodie, and jacket on. Good books do all seem to come out at the same time don’t they. It makes it so hard to get ahead. I actually grabbed Undead Girl Gand this week but haven’t downloaded it yet. Enjoy your new books!
