Sunday Post #62: Strays, Rain, and Stress

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Rain and cold weather has rolled in, so the brief warm weather that I was bragging about is gone. It’s actually flip flopping around, so not that weird for TX. Last week we had a cute little visitor:

She just wandered onto our front yard. We weren’t sure whose dog she was, but she was little bit on the skinny side. A super sweet baby who just had a collar and no dog tag. It was quite heartbreaking because she looked so sad. We posted a found dog sign on our lawn and I reported her on our neighborhood Facebook page. Nobody answered or came to ask about her. We kept her in our backyard, but sometime during the night she escaped (through a broken slat in our fence). I felt so bad about that and we haven’t seen her since. Hope she’s ok.

Otherwise, nothing really interesting happening. Just scrambling around with doing taxes and the continuous house things that we have to do. Stressed isn’t even the worst of it.

I don’t read multiple books at the same time, but lately that’s how it’s been going.

Wednesday, was a Blurb Blitz Tour for The Ancient Tripod of Peace. The author is giving away a $40 Amazon/BN gift card. Check it out and read an excerpt too.

Copy of Top 5 Reasons Wedding Cake Crumble

On Friday, I listed the top 5 reasons why I loved Wedding Cake Crumble by Jenn McKinlay. She was a new-to-me author. I’ve seen her contemporary romances and didn’t know she also wrote Cozy Mysteries. This one was really cute.

That’s too funny—I just finished Undead Girl Gang (loved it!) and just reviewed The Gold-Son! Hope you enjoy both 🙂 Spring is always an exciting time weather-wise in Texas. I didn’t mind the cold snap yesterday, but I’m reading for some more normal temps now!

You most likely did more to find the dog’s owner than other people wold have.

Too bad about the puppy but hopefully he knew where he was heading! I can relate about the house stuff stress. It definitely feels like it’s always something. I’m so glad you enjoyed the Jenn McKinlay! I really like her Library mystery series too. Have a great week!

Dallas was cold last week, and when I went home to Houston, Dallas’ cold apparently followed me home. We are back in long-sleeves and wraps.

Sorry about the dog. Dogs are so easy to love. I hope he has found a new permanent home.

I really enjoyed Race the Darkness!! I hope you like it! Hopefully the dog is okay.

That makes me sad about the dog and I hope that she is ok. Enjoy your books and your week ahead!

Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog

Aw hope that doggie finds his people. We have had cold yucky weather here but supposed to be looking up by the end of the week. Fingers crossed! Hope you enjoy your new book and have a great week!

That dog is so cute! That’s too bad that she disappeared. Hopefully she was found. I had a similar thing happen to me the other week – a little dog was running through the industrial park in my town. I was about to turn around and get her when someone else came by and picked her up. I later heard that she was reunited with her family so fingers crossed the same thing happened to this dog. I read Undead Girl Gang the other week and thought it was good for the most part. I’ll be curious to hear your… Read more »

Anna @Adventures with a Book Nerd

Awwww, I’m sorry to hear that your doggy friend ran away! They were probably an escape artist, and they escaped out of their owner’s yard too. 🙁 Hopefully things go okay for them. Have a good week! 🙂

Aww sorry to hear the dog disappeared! Hopefully he found his way home or his owners found him, somehow.

Monstress sounds great, and so does Undead Girl Gang (I love that title BTW).
