Sunday Post #65: New House and GDPR Madness

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Is it too soon to wish for cooler weather? It’s so dang hot that everything is starving for water. We’ve had sporadic showers but the ground just sucked that right up. Plants are still green, but I hope it’s not another dry summer. I have no plans for Memorial Day weekend. How about you?

House update: Y’all, I’m seriously over this house building thing. It’s getting down to the crunch and I can tell you that my contractor knows nothing of the crunch. So many mistakes and they cracked a frickin’ window! I’m OVER it. Probably a little over a month left. *sigh*

Tazzie, my dog got a little sick the other day and she actually had me worried sick. I don’t know what she ate that caused her to have diarrhea and vomiting, but OMG waking up to all that mess is not ideal. We doctored her and thankfully she got over it quickly.

All this pressure with everything has caused me to go into a reading/blogging slump again. I’ll probably not reach my Goodreads goal for this year at the rate that I’m going. Also, I’m rethinking my ARC policy again. I think that might have a factor with this. Hopefully, I can get back on track soon.

Is everyone tired of getting GDPR emails? I really didn’t think that was necessary, but I did include a privacy policy page on my blog. It’s long and drawn out, but it covers all issues and apps. Luckily, WordPress and Jetpack have great resources on how to write it.  Just go to settings > privacy.

I love the Harmony Harbor series so much and this is the perfect summer read so far.

I don’t envy you the contractor issues. I’ve never built a house but I’ve had several friends who have and it made me look at older already standing houses! Glad everything worked out for your pup. There’s no telling what they can get into! Sandpiper Shore looks amazing! I have one book by Debbie Mason but I haven’t read it yet. I need to pull it out of the stack!

The house building sounds really stressful, but I’m sure it will be worth it in the end. Sorry your dog was sick but glad she’s better now. Pets are really good at giving us scares like that. Yes, I’m definitely tired of all the GDPR emails. I think they’re only necessary if you didn’t ask people to sign up legitimately in the first place.

Aj @ Read All The Things!

I’m glad the dog is better. My dog at an enchilada out of the garbage once, and I couldn’t believe the mess that came out of her. That wasn’t fun. I’m also sick of the GDPR emails. My inbox is flooded with them. Have a good week.

Mary Kirkland

Sorry to hear about your dog but glad the sickness went away fast. I’ve woken up to that a few times.

Yes GDPR caused a flurry of emails. The weather seems to have swung from cold to hot this year without the nice in between 70-80 temps. We are in the 80s this week but rainy for a bit almost every day. My dog is 16 and we’ve been lucky but I’m afraid she will hit a rough patch at some point. Anne – Books of My Heart

I am on blogger and they seem to have me covered via GDRP, but I do want to move to my own site eventually. Definitely checking out your privacy page to see if I can understand everything that is going on. (I’ve read so many things and it’s so confusing.)

I’m sorry the house building is tedious. I can only imagine… and cracking a window?!

My dog had a dog named Tazzie many years ago. *^-^*

Ugh sorry to hear about all the problems with the house! That sucks. I don’t know that I will meet my goodreads goal either. I am STRUGGLING! I want to lower it just so it stops telling me I am X books behind schedule.
Hope you have a good week!

Mary @StackingMyBookShelves!

Sorry your dog was sick and omg have woken up to that on a few occasions…Me and my hubby call it a shitty start to our day…LOL. Have a better week and hopefully the house will be done soon.

Mary my #Sunday Roundup #20!

I hope that things will smooth out for your house building soon and that you will enjoy your new house once this is over. Poor doggy and I hope he/she is better!

I just now heard of GDPR. The weather just started to get decent for spring in MI.

Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog

We have had good weather not too hot . . .yet. Hope the house crunch time gets all done!! Glad Tazzie is ok. Oh man GDPR. I am so lost but trying to put something together this week to be kind of complaint? I don’t know! Have a great week!

Ronyell (a.k.a Rabbitearsblog)

Awww…I hope Tazzie feels better. It’s bad whenever the contractors have no idea what they are doing when building houses. I hope you get a better contractor soon!

Yup, it’s too soon 😀 but I guess summer kind of came early this year? It’s also pretty warm in here. But so far, I’m enjoying it.
Oh no, poor Tazzie! She’s okay now though, right? I’m glad.
Hope you have a great week!

GDPR is a pain in the… yeah you get the idea. 🙂 Seriously though, ugh. And nah it’s not too early to wish for cooler weather- I found myself doing it today since it was like 92. Why can’t we have a happy medium? Where did the 70’s go lol?

And I love long holiday weekends with no plans! so relaxing ha ha. Hope yours is a good one!

It’s freezing and wet here, but it’s also winter. Have a great week 🙂

Laurel-Rain Snow

I want to forget about GDPR and enjoy that Sandpiper Shore book. Luckily I’m with WP and the changes are pretty seamless. For now, anyway.

Enjoy your weekend…and have a great next week.
