Sunday Post #79: Spring Has Sprung

by Aleen @ Lampshade Reader

Welcome back to the Sunday Post! Sit back, kick up your feet, and relax!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This lovely Spring weather that we’re having here has kind of made me feel a little lazy in terms of writing posts for the blog. I take every opportunity to sit outside, read, and listen to the birds sing. What sounds better than that?

I did DNF a book last week that had received praise all over the book community, but I just couldn’t get into it. It was a contemporary romance. I just don’t spend time on books that I don’t enjoy anymore, I have way too many others to worry about one.

I think I’ve been doing really good in balancing the number of ARCs and TBR books that I don’t feel burned out yet.  I’m having a happy reading year so far. 🙂

Also received this as an ARC.

Vermilion Lies

I already had Releasing the Demons, but the author did a cover revamp so I had to buy this edition too. 🙂 The Royal Art of Poison sounded really interesting to me so I bought the Audible version.

The spring weather is making me feel energetic. I’ll get lazy when it start to get hot. It’s great you feel like you are getting a good balance with your reads. I hope you are having a great week!

Here is my Sunday Post

Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

It’s always so weird when I dislike a book that everyone loves. I always wonder what I’m missing! Good for you for DNFing it. I need to do that more often. I typically keep reading and I always regret it! Hope you’re having a great week!

Kristen @ Metaphors and Moonlight

Don’t worry, I’ve disliked plenty of hyped books lol. Glad you’re finding a good balance of ARCs and non-ARCs! I’ve never played Dragon Quest, it looks cool!

Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

I’m with you, I’m no longer willing to spend my precious reading time on books i’m not enjoying. No matter how hyped the book is. There are too many other books that I’m truly excited for. Sometimes a cover change has me buying all new copies, too. LOL

Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer

Glad you are enjoying the warmer weather. We had one day that was wonderful, but sadly rainy and cold ever since. Ah well, soon I will be sitting in the sun..lol Bummer about the DNF, it happens though. Hope this is a good week.

Shelleyrae @ Book’d Out

Reading should make you always happy 🙂

Aj @ Read All The Things!

I’m glad you have spring weather. It’s still snowing here, so I’m envious. I want to sit outside. Have a great week!

I love sitting outside and reading when the weather is nice. It’s pretty cold today though, so booo. Sorry about the DNF but you’re right – no need to waste time on a book you aren’t enjoying!

Mary Kirkland

I’m pretty picky about what books I read these days. I do read new authors but only if the book sounds great. I mostly read authors that I know I already like.

I’ve really noticed the birds have been back this past week- lots more bird chatter outside! Which is nice frankly after such a long winter.

Love the screen shot from Dragon Quest!
