Shady Talk Banner Top 5 Reasons Spellbound

Spellbound  literally had me spellbound while reading it! Allie Therin is a new-to-me author and I saw this book reviewed over at Kristen’s (go check her blog out too!) and I had to have it. Boy, did it NOT disappoint! This story had me giggling the whole time. That Rory is spunky! and the relationship between Rory and Arthur was pure gold. This is actually my first M/M romance that I’ve read. Read on to find out some of the top 5 quotes from this book!

1. “Triple. Rory cursed into his tea, because now he was listening. “And what does he want for triple? Me in a maid’s uniform, scrying all the china in his Fifth Avenue mansion?””

Yeah, if I was drinking tea while reading this I would have definitely spit it out. It puts such an image into your head that you can’t get out. Funny.

2. “People can still see you,” Arthur pointed out. “You’re not that short.””
“You’re not that funny.”

Love, love, love, Arthur and Rory’s sarcastic dialogues. There are so many gems in this book.

3. “Why’re you so happy?” He said suspiciously.
“Not all of us shop at Scowls and Brooding, dear.”

It wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t mention Mrs. Brodigan, who can stand up for herself against anything. Especially, sarcastic little sh*ts like Rory. And, I say that with all the love in my heart.

4.“Yes, because Rory would never tell you what he really thought. He’s such a wilting flower.”
“Even hellcats can be taken advantage of-“

Arthur’s lucky Rory wasn’t there to hear this conversation. But it was still funny.

5. Then you hold on to me, because I won’t let go.

Probably the most romantic line and overall theme to this whole dang story. I loved how it was brought up on a couple of occasions. It really did bring the sweet to balance out the sassy.

New York

Arthur Kenzie’s life’s work is protecting the world from the supernatural relics that could destroy it. When an amulet with the power to control the tides is shipped to New York, he must intercept it before it can be used to devastating effects. This time, in order to succeed, he needs a powerful psychometric…and the only one available has sworn off his abilities altogether.

Rory Brodigan’s gift comes with great risk. To protect himself, he’s become a recluse, redirecting his magic to find counterfeit antiques. But with the city’s fate hanging in the balance, he can’t force himself to say no.

Being with Arthur is dangerous, but Rory’s ever-growing attraction to him begins to make him brave. And as Arthur coaxes him out of seclusion, a magical and emotional bond begins to form. One that proves impossible to break—even when Arthur sacrifices himself to keep Rory safe and Rory must risk everything to save him.

Allie Therin is a writer and avid reader of sci-fi, fantasy, and romance. I do love m/m fiction, and I’m so glad you decided to read this and really loved it. I need to review it ASAP, but I really loved it too and I’m so glad there will be another book!

Ooo, well I don’t or I should say I haven’t read any M/M romances other than novellas woven into series I’ve been reading. However, I love paranormal, historical tales…and this sounds so good. I love the quotes. Adding to my list!
